G & I had a great start to the Inaugural weekend when we were leaving the house on Saturday night. We heard helicopters overhead and thought that maybe it was Obama's train (which G had actually seen being pulled north to Philly early in the week). We drove down to the tracks two blocks away from our house and sure enough, Theirs train was passing slowly by. We drove to another place a few blocks away and actually stood on a platform only a few train tracks away, as the train went past. We didn't see Them, but did see lots of secret service, before the police told us to get moving. We were so pumped!
Then yesterday we had a great time at the We Are One concert at the Lincoln Memorial. Sarah & Pete introduced us to this Obama song (on the right of the page, Obama song) as we were putting on our many layers to brave the cold...
The highlight for me was U2, but Pete Seeger and 400,000 people singing "This Land is Your Land" was pretty cool. Fitz loved it and was singing it all day today.
