Last Week at the Beach

We had a wonderful last week at the beach.

We were so glad Rachel and Jason joined us for the weekend!  We loved early mornings on the deck with Rachel,

reading time with Jason
and Rachel

and sailing!!

Rachel and Jason took the kayaks out and met up with G and Kate in the sailboat

Mama and Rachel (good friends from the Chorus)
Ice cream was an almost daily occurrence!

Maggie & C did some yoga on the deck!

Fitz and Liam inside
We were all enamored with Riley June

The grown ups built a fire one night!

Fitz and I went out for a paddle
Ryan and Seraphina ambushed us!!

Then we headed to the estuary - I was so proud of Fitz for leading the paddling all the way down the shore, into the estuary, around and back again!

Early one morning the kiddos went to hang the flags

and then for some digging on the beach

C & Liam narrate their digging here... I love their 3 year old talk...

we all thought this cloud was so cool!
Kate & Ryan

Ryan and G

Amazing moon!

We set up the tents one morning and the kids played in and around them all day long!  Story time, play time, pretend time, snack time - they had a blast!

Ryan's jumps in to the pool made us all laugh,

especially Liam
Riley slept so soundly outside!

We love that the kids can run and run and run in the yard

Seraphina and Mama had so much fun playing soccer!

Mama taught Cecelia about cucumbers on them eyes (especially helpful when smoke is near)

And we made s'mores!!

Fitz loved riding Theirs bike all over the place

And tent time!  It was a great place to be on a rainy morning

Maggie taught us all how to play Mr. Fox

Cecelia was so cheerful in the morning, with Mama's glasses!!

Mama & Kate
Butterfly or moth?

Our last afternoon was spent in the water on the paddleboard....this video captures some of our favorite moments...

Last sunrise, we all sat on the deck to enjoy!
Maggie snuggles!

Big Sibling, baby sis

Heading home...
Back in DC!
