We had a wonderful family morning exploring some sights in town. As we approached this statue and we read the name, Fitz told us all who John Ericsson was and that They "invented the screw propellor." We have a book about it, and apparently, the info stuck! Thanks, Fitz!
We walked across the street to see the reflecting pool, the Monument and Lincoln
C was so excited to see Abraham Lincoln up close!! (pre-cast)
They was giddy, really!
Each of the kiddos took their turns quietly approaching the statue...
Then we hiked around the outside - the kids thought it was so cool to look through this grate into the area underneath the memorial!
